Winter Fitness/Folk Dance Session

Monday Mornings, 10 a.m. Starting January 9, 2023. Through March. North Bend Senior Center; 1470 Airport Way, North Bend

This is a free weekly fitness class for all. Enjoy movement and music with your friends and neighbors as we teach enjoyable international dances. They’re easy to learn and fun to do. No prior dance experience is required. Each Monday we’ll share a variety of uplifting dances from around the world. Wear comfortable shoes and a big smile! 3rd Saturday International Folk Dance Party

SATURDAY, JANUARY 21; 7-9:30 PM – Free

Please join the circle of dancers, and experience the joy of vibrant village dances from around the world.  Skilled instructors will guide you every step of the way.  We will dance to live music for some dances, and recorded music for others.  Doors open at 6:45.  Refreshments will be available.

4th Saturday SingAlong

January 28, 2023; 11AM – NOON – North Bend Public Library – Free
The South Coast Folk Society, in partnership with the North Bend Library, invites all voices to join our monthly Sing-along at the North Bend Public Library activity room. “Rise Up Singing” songbooks will be provided, or bring your own.  Capacity of the room will be limited to preserve social distancing, so first come, first served.  Masking and distancing requirements might vary depending on the library’s requirements each month, so be prepared. The next Singalong will be Saturday, October 22 at 11AM.


Community Barn Dance

Morris Dancing – Side of the Tide

Side of the Tide is the South Coast Folk Society’s Morris dancing troupe.  New dancers are welcome.  We dance for parades, special events, to entertain groups, and just for the sheer joy of dancing

Outstanding Open Band

Our Outstanding Open Band consists of musicians who practice and play for our monthly Contra Dances. If interested in joining, please contact Sharon Rogers at or 541-501-2254.

Rehearsals: 4th Friday of the month, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the North Bend Senior Center, 1470 Airport Way, North Bend. First rehearsal is September 23rd.

Performance: The Outstanding Open Band will be playing for most of our Contra/Barn Dances on the first Saturday of the month.
